Welcome to Maura McKibbin:
Separating together with care & dignity
I have seen many separations in my career and it is always the divorce process, rather than the divorce itself, that takes the heaviest toll on a couple. Going to court can erode trust and make relationships harder, especially when children are involved. I use a collaborative process to ensure a positive and amicable separation, giving consideration to all involved.
I offer a free, no-obligation consultation so that I can help people understand all of their options including the collaborative process, and advise them on their case, without them feeling under pressure. Having been a divorce solicitor for 14 years I understand the pressures for clients. I trained at Pannone LLP in Manchester and since qualifying I have specialised exclusively in family law, qualifying as a Family Mediator and then as a Collaborative Family Solicitor, helping couples and parents undergoing the pain and trauma of separation.
It is vital to remember that when a family unit disintegrates the emotional welfare of a couple must take equal priority alongside their financial welfare. I see the collaborative process as a 'win-win' approach to family restructuring and resolving issues, without the need to go to court. The process requires an atmosphere of openness and honesty; it can allow a couple to reach an early agreement with dignity and mutual respect, with a view to beginning their new lives as soon as possible.
I have a personable approach, in which care goes hand-in-hand with legal excellence. For an informal consultation regarding any aspect of your separation, please call me on 0161 928 5974
Kind Regards,
Maura McKibbin
